Folly Beach

An eccentric and diverse beach town, only 10 minutes away from historic downtown Charleston, and there are lots of things to do during your visit.

Folly Beach runs about 6 miles along the Atlantic side of the island. The beach has suffered major erosion problems, and  the beach was restored a few years ago by pumping millions of cubic yards of sand onto the shore. It appears as though this will be a constant battle and that this procedure will have to be repeated in the future.

Fishing, Crabbing, sun-bathing, surfing, swimming, biking, waterskiing, and sailing are all activities you can enjoy at Folly Beach. It has a 1,000-foot fishing pier with snack bar, tackle shop, and a seafood restaurant.
